Welcome! We're so glad you stopped by to check us out.
Who are we? ZionFireFriends is a Christian forum for worship arts ministers (banners, dance, music, drama/mime, pageantry), pastors and worshippers from all over the world to network and help and encourage each other. We want to provide a discussion platform for Davidic, Messianic, psalmic and biblical worship discussions. There is a repository here of resources, articles, instructions, and pictures available to you to help you and inspire you as you minister in worship.
This message board is also a way to have interaction with those who visit our Zionfire website, which features a gallery of the ZionFire banners, and is an archive of some of our scriptural teachings.
Hope you enjoy your time here! Don't forget to bookmark the site (add to Favorites) and come back to visit us often.

I will visit back to see how this threads. I am getting some in fringe movements that are concerned with bowing their knee or just worshipping an idol when we use banners as a focal point in a stage setting. Or, we use an altar and have incense the use of strange fire as a topic usually arises (ha, ha!).
What are your thoughts, AND, scriptural contexts : )
:zf: TWO COVENANTS BANNER
"I will write my law upon their hearts."
The banner is a 9X14 foot fabric mural depiction of the original acrylic painting by Martha Stern, Israeli artist. It pictures both the giving of the law to Moses on Mt. Sinai, and the coming of the tongues of fire of the Holy Spirit at Pentecost with the temple in the background. It was commissioned for the Christian Friends of Israel celebration of Shavuot (Pentecost) in Jerusalem in the spring of 1988.

Altars of Remembrance in Banner Ministry - TWO COVENANTS
In the early spring of 1988, I was approached to do a banner for a Christian conference in Jerusalem, Israel that would celebrate the Shavuot, or Pentecost feast in May. I was to take the design from an acrylic painting of Israeli artist Martha Stern depiciting scenes of the old and new covenants and translate it into a 9 x 13 foot fabric mural that would be used as the backdrop for the conference. When I agreed to take the commission, I had no idea the adventures I would have in producing this project.
The time frame was maniacally short. From the time I received the print and patterns, I had exactly one month until the last day the banner could be shipped for timely arrival for the conference. While I was waiting on the patterns, I was talking to people I knew about the project and a great excitement was getting stirred up in our little rural church about the opportunity to be a part of something that would minister in Israel.
It took about two weeks to assemble materials and prepare the patterns. Because of the complexity of the design, over 70 different fabrics and 50 trims had to be selected and purchased. Most of these were found in one day in one store. The few others necessary were mail-ordered and were covered by much fervent prayer for timely arrival. Amazingly, though there were several shipping delays, items would arrived just on the day we needed them.
By the time I was ready to begin actual work, I had about twenty volunteers anxious to help and be a part of the effort. This was a new experience for me, I had never had anyone ASK to help with work on the banners before. So, from the time we were ready to begin I had shifts of up to ten people working 16 hours a day for the two weeks (yes, only fourteen days!) that it took to complete the mural banner. The patterns were arranged in sections, and each person would complete their assigned section and then it would be applied to the banner as if it were a piece in a giant jigsaw puzzle. The fact that God gifted me with the organizational skills to keep this whole production going is one of the little recognized miracles of this project.
Before delivering the banner to Paul Wilbur and Israels Hope to be hand-carried to the event in Jerusalem, the banner was previewed at a regional America Arise event in Detroit. Over 600 more believers began to pray for the Word of the Lord to go forth from the upcoming Shavuot event.
The real story begins in the testimonies that came back from Jerusalem following the conference. The site of the conference was an orthodox hotel, the Ramada Renaissance, in Jerusalem. Countless Jewish people filed past the banner as it hung in the conference hall, and even more as word got out and people brought their friends to see. There were many opportunities for the conference staff to give glory to the God of Israel and make a faith connection with Jewish people because of this banner that depicted their history. Jewish believers in Jerusalem, who up until this time had kept an extremely low profile, began to declare themselves and for the first time ever, the local newspapers began to carry reports on Jewish Christians. Believers from all over the world attended this conference and were affected by the message of the banner. In the future, Two Covenantsis slated to be hung on permanent display at a visitors center in Jerusalem, and will keep speaking the message of Gods faithfulness to fulfill His promises to His people.
:zf: He will give His angels charge over thee
This is a banner that I built in 2002 as a gift to a favorite aunt. She loves angels, and has many representations through her home. I designed a banner for her that depicts angels as strong, masculine warriors. The four angels surround a psalmic blessing.
The banner hangs mid-way in a 3 story atrium that houses a library and a cupola outfitted with colored glass windows. As the sunlight moves around the room, the changing colored light gives the banner an ever-changing glow.

The design of this banner was adapted (with permission) from original dustcover artwork by Thomas Klauba for the book <URL url="http://www.amazon.com/What-Bible-Says-about-Angels/dp/157673336X/sr=1-30/qid=1157736703/ref=sr_1_30/103-1131894-6901400?ie=UTF8&s=books">What the Bible Says About Angels by David Jeremiah. We highly recommend this book as a scriptural way to understand angels.

"Father of Life" is a banner that was built in the summer of 2004 to be used in pro-life ministry events. The design is meant to give hope, rather than condemnation and to point our intercession to the Source and Giver of Life. --Helena
:zf: Father of Life
a banner for Pro-Life intercession
And are not two sparrows sold for a penny? And yet not one of them will fall on the ground without your Fathers leave and notice. Matt. 10:29 Amplified
Jesus is referred to in the writings of the early church fathers as the Father of Life. The title is always used in reference to Adam, who was considered the Father of Death, because he brought sin into the world. Jesus, the Second Adam, breaks the curse of the old Adam and is therefore given the name Father of Life.
On the banner, the cross is depicted as a tree of life. The cross represents Jesus. Branches on the tree bring forth tiny new green leaves. The fresh, new leaves represent the babies we pray for. They spring from branches which grow out of wounds on the Tree of Life. These lives have been purchased by the blood of Christ before they have even come forth.
Some leaves have been detached from the branches. These are brown and are falling to represent the lives of the babies that have been killed by abortion.
At the base of the tree is a pile of dead leaves, but these are not like the falling leaves. They are gleaming and silver (the color of redemption). They represent the souls of the dead babies who have been gathered back into the bosom of the Father of Life. He knows each one, and He will care for them throughout eternity.

Back of Banner
As a father pities his children, so the Lord pities them that fear him. For He knows our frame. He remembers that we are dust. As for man, his days are as grass, as a flower of the field, so he flourishes. For the wind passes over it , and it is gone; and the place thereof shall know it no more. But the mercy of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him
. Psalm 103: 13-17
The three words on the back: Hope, Mercy, and Pardon are virtue touchpoints for intercessory prayer. The word Mercy flows through the center as a stream of the Redeeming Blood. There is mercy available for those who have participated in these murders. We must pray that they turn to the Father, and that He pours out His mercy upon them.
As we also pray for the release of Hope and Pardon, we ask for a release of the Fear of the Lord, for that is the beginning of Wisdom, and the path to the Mercy of the Lord.
[An interpretive solo dance was performed at the presentation of this banner to the congregation for the first time. In the dance, the banner is referenced as an acknowledgement to the One it represents.]
The Dance: Music Father of Life by Craig Smith
The dance is an intercession for all those who need the pardon and mercy of the Lord. In the context of the banners message, the dancer repents as a prophetic picture of the hope we have: that those who need the mercy of the Lord for the sin of abortion will find it.

If you need to provide a portion of a lyric to a song to make a point, that is not a violation. Including the entire lyric IS a violation. A safe rule of thumb is to include less than 50% of the lyric (or prose) and still provide information about the owner of the copyright as well as the composer and/or author. That also honors our artistic brothers and sisters whose works we quote. Always good to give honor where honor is due.
