Do you and your pastor co-ordinate??

Hi,
I think of this often, let me explain my question. . .
Do you worship leaders "have" to use a theme each week when you go to choose your songs, or do you know what your pastor will be preaching on so that you can co-ordinate your songs with his topic?
At our church, we do not. I never know until my pastor stands and says the topic. He never knows what I have chosen for songs either. We've never had a service where the songs chosen did not match his topic perfectly.
We've always worked this way, and I feel totally spoiled in that I know he respects my calling enough to let me go.
What do y'all do???
Blessings!

I sing in the shadow of your wings.

We're in a situation where when we lead worship musically, we usually do get the notes of what he's going to teach on, as well as whatever the changes to scheduled scripture readings are. And we often get them more than 2 days in advance.
We have the option of bringing music that supports what he's teaching, what's being read, or if we are inspired to go a different way, we can do that as well. More often than not, whatever we bring ends up supporting where he's going or is otherwise incorporated into what he teaches. Pretty neat how the Holy Spirit brings that to pass.

If I don't have any information about themes or sermon topic of what is coming, and don't have any clear leading in my spirit....I use the daily readings from the lectionary to inspire me. It's amazing how the Lord can highlight something to you from that which Dove-tails (pun intended!) into what the themes of the service are.
