DOMAIN NAME update! It's working! - HelenaZF - 03-08-2006

We've acquired our domain name <URL url="http://www.ZionFireFriends.com">www.ZionFireFriends.com. It will overlay our current address: <URL url="http://s15.invisionfree.com/ZionFireFriends/index.php">http://s15.invisionfree.com/ZionFireFriends/index.php? which is the link that y'all use to get here right now.



Over the next couple of days, Dean will be installing it. What does this mean to you?



Well, probably nothing significant to your own membership. Except that during the installation process, you might have a little trouble getting on the board. If you do, just keep trying. However, your old link will continue to work even after the change. (At least that's the way I am understanding it.)



The good thing is, once it is in place, we will all be able to invite people here by just sending them to ZionFireFriends.com instead of having to give them the other impossible-to-remember address.



Dean is saying the change-over should be completed by Friday this week. Maybe he'll pop in and clarify what I've said.

The news tonight, Friday, March 10, is that <URL url="http://www.ZionFireFriends.com">http://www.ZionFireFriends.com will land you at this site. YAY for that. :praise: That's the good news.



The other good news is that it appears that there will not be any down time. or at least that is how it appears at the moment. We'll see if it stays that way.



The not quite so good news is that after that gets you to the site, the address in your window reverts to the s15... stuff. :decision: Working on that part of things. THAT may cause some outage if THAT is what needs to realign itself. I won't do that until Sunday night if that's what needs done. :pray:



And there does not appear to be any bad news in all of this. How 'bout that!?!?!

ZionFireFriends has been unaccessible for the last full day. We're sorry for the inconvenience. But IT'S ALL GOOD NOW!

Dean and two colleagues are starting a counter organization to the extremely liberal AARP for people interested in the promotion of traditional American values. And you can be confident that your membership fee will not be used to fund liberal lobbyists in Washington.
