Dean and I like to go to the Marakesh Cafe located in Rosanna Square in Overland Park, Kansas. It is a Morrocan buffet hosted by chef Mustafa, and features a gyro bar, greek salad fixings, hummus, baba ganoush, and a unique citrusy chick pea soup. There is curried chicken and sides of couscous, potato dishes and rice. We love the sweet chili-sauced salmon and the stewed lamb dishes. Mustafa personally brings out warm pitas for you as you sit down for your dinner. Drinks and Baklava is even included in the buffet price...very reasonable, about $10.

Dear Dean and Helena

David h. here. Do you frequent that nice little Chinese restaurant for lunch still? we often talk about our visits there with you both and wonder if it is still in business and JUST AS TASTY???

How was your trip to Florida??

We 're all well. Juliette heads to Sydney tomorrow evening LATE, to visit with and help her mom prepare for a fundraiser.

We are in the middle of rehearsals for Pesach, sharing with a local (gentile lead) Messianic group on the 15th and leading our full celebration the next evening. we include lotsa opportunities for public response, having taught/trained the dancers to facilitate small or larger group responses.

Two trips overseas are planned at present; both to malaysia and bangkok. These will take place; April/May Tabernacle of David's Prophetic Worship School, ministry and a three day holiday to celebrate....*and July/August for the International Christian Dance fellowship's conference.

*Hey, guess what, we're celebrating our tenth anniversary this coming May 11th!! Can you remember blessing us with your beautiful smiles, prayers and selves at our wedding, not to mention the yeshua banner and many other pieces of beautification!!

this is all for now

we send our love to you both

david and the Perth haddys.

Alas.....the little chinese place is no more. It is a Subway sandwich shoppe now. The people that were there opened a take-out only place in the Checkers building not far from there (you know....where you could get those GREAT chips?) We mourn it's passing. But life goes on...we have found a lovely little Vietnamese place that is now our favorite for quiet and tasty dining.

Florida trip was good...all rest and relaxation for me, and wood-turning convention and family visit thrown in there for Dean. We definitely came back refreshed.

Be sure and post some details about the dates for your ministry engagements so we can all be praying for you. Sounds like you have some exciting times coming up.

TENTH ANNIVERSARY! :yikes: I feel old....... Yours was definitely THE most fun wedding we have ever been too.....lots of great memories.

Here's a pic of the Yeshua banner:

Another good one is the Mediterranean Market on Metcalf & 75th in Overland Park.

It's a combination deli, cafe and mid-east grocery store. The two brothers who own it are delightfully wacky and super friendly. Some really unusual bean and veggie dishes, good lamb on the rod. They tell me their lentil soup is to die for, but haven't tried it yet. The grocery section is really fun to browse through. You can find things like chickpea cookies and a mid-east version of Nutella!

We were at City Market today, also known as River Market. It's an outdoor bazaar-style city block with lots of different ethnic and yuppie restaurants, shoppes, and fruit stands. In the summer, the local farmers, mennonites, flower growers, all come and sell their wares under open canopies.

Had lunch today at the mid-east restaurant. Very nice combo plate with hummus, baba ganoush, tabouli, dolma, falafel, rice&pinenuts, and a cucumber/pepper/tomato salad. AND....of course....pita wedges.

Interesting atmosphere....cement floors, loud arabic music playing, minnaret shapes cut into the table legs, and navajo blankets and pillows on the banquets! An interesting eclectic mix, to be sure.

The restaurant is connected to a market where you can get all kinds of mid-east exotics: grains, spices, yogurt products, strange delicacies and unidentified pickled things. Great place to browse around.
