I'm going to add to this a bit at a time as I get back to it, but I'd love it if we shared with each other some of the great pieces of music that we've seen or choreographed at various times for banner/flag pageantry, maybe even with some dance incorporated. I'm looking for the very best ones here--that were powerful and anointed.



Please list the piece, artist, CD of origin, and a basic outline of how it was choreographed and any testimonies you might like to share. I'll be back later to add some of my favorites.

Great idea!



One of my personal, all-time favorites was one from a Hosanna album a million years ago. Short, sweet, powerful. One that Helena and I have presented as a two person piece, a 20 person piece and more and less. "He's our Victorious King". Words and Music by Dean Romanelli, copyright 1982. From Hosanna's "I will Rejoice" album.



Because it is short, has both a good clean beginning and ending, it is a wonderful candidate for canned music for pageantry. When Helena and I do the duo thing, it's often with Exalted One and the crown and pillow, "Mighty One of Israel" and "His Majesty is Over Israel". Two of us can move fine in a small space and with the banner, we can still be a "big" picture. The banner moves in and is presented to the congregation. The crown then comes in and is also presented to the congregation and is moved before the banner. The ending is a big "up", so the banner and crown are both lifted up, joining the music in a visual crescendo of praise to our Victorious King.



We've added flags, other crowns, a sceptor, other banners, palms, pennants, and other folks to the tableau. :flag: :yayisrael: :flag:



It's only about 2 minutes 40 seconds. Gotta get in and placed quickly. Can't do TOO much. JUUUUUUUUUUST right!

How Excellent is Thy Name - Hosanna Integrity 12, Arise and Sing.

Joyful, energetic praise number. I like to use this piece as an opener, and bring a bunch of flaggers running in with colorful pennants. Lends itself well to military moves because of the strong beat. We opened a dance conference at Founder's Inn in Virginia Beach with this once, and the music leader said, "Wow! When all those flags came running in, it was like something from DisneyWorld, only much better!"





All Consuming Fire - Hosanna Integrity 15 In His Presence (Worship: coming into the presence of God.) Choreographed for a solo dancer, fire flags, and Seven Spirits Banners. Have also used 30 foot long fire silks with rods on the end which are hung from the rafters and manipulated by a dancer. (you can get a glimpse of them in the background <URL url="http://zionfirefriends.com/index.php?showtopic=290&view=findpost&p=2152793">HERE.

You can let this piece run into the next song effectively as well which is "Take me into the Holy of Holies." Another favorite piece which uses the same elements is Let your Fire Fall Hosanna, Paul Wilbur Holy Fire



Hymn of Glory Hosanna Integrity 22, Enter His Gates (Throne room worship.) Awe-inspiring music that keeps building to a glorious crescendo. My favorite choreography for this involves many banners, each one grouped with holy objects related to it. For instance, Living Word banner with dancers carrying two torah scrolls. A King of Kings banner grouped with several crowns & scepter, etc. Each group proceeds up the aisle and then peels off and continues to circle the room through out the piece. The last group goes to the platform and makes a tableau for the ending. The dancers in each group have a choreography that they do at the end of each chorus phrase; "Glory hallelujah!...Glory hallelujah!"...on that last JAH!, the banner bearers rock back & forth in place as the dances do their choreography, and then the procession proceeds.

Bring Forth the Royal Robe Hosanna Integrity #20 Army of God (triumphal)

Make an entrance for the KING! Royal pennants proceed and flank a coronation grouping of banners including scepter, crowns, and large flags that join for the flourish on the end. Central to the grouping is the banner [i]Exalted One which is actually designed as a royal purple robe, but any banner exalting the Lord's Kingship could be used.

Yahveh Shall Arise Steve Fry Thy Kingdom Come (bombastic proclamation)

Dancers - billowing silks that boil as the sea, and make a way for banners representing the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit to emerge and form a wall of nine banners that advance to a thrilling crescendo.



O Lord God of Israel Integrity Hosanna #10, Praise and Honor (ministry, adoration)

We bring a set of 8 Covenant Names banners which all gracefully take a postion arrayed across the front. An instrumental version of the song continues after the sung portion, and each banner steps forward and is featured as a narrator proclaims the covenant each one represents. The observer is invited to partake of the rich promises of the Names.

Lord, Take Up Your Holy Throne Hosanna Integrity Shalom Jerusalem (majesty and intercession)

This can be an enormous piece with dancers carrying abundant harvest offerings, flaggers, many banners, or can be done with as few as 3-4 people. But in the beginning , a solo dancer interprets the prayer for the Lord to take up His throne in our hearts. The second portion pleads that the nation would yield to the Lord's sovereignty. I like to use the Lord of the Harvest banner for this portion which shows the Glory of the Lord being poured over the people as they pray. The finale requires a coronation grouping of crowns, king banners, royal flags, and everyone joins in a huge (as possible!) display of glory and honor to the King. Dancers, flaggers can be circling the coronation group as the piece ends with "and of the increase of His government..there shall be no end..."

Arise O Lord Hosanna Integrity Lion of Judah (entrance processional)

This is a great piece if you have a stage to set up. All the elements can be brought in as part of this processional. There's room for some dancers to interpret the song as well while all this is going on by showin God's people coming into the presence of the Lord.
