The International Christian Embassy Jerusalem's second UK conference will be on Feb 15-16. It's at a place called Billinge, near Wigan, which in the north of England between Liverpool and Manchester. I'm not involved this time (last year I was one of the dance leaders). Chuck King will be leading worship, Malcolm Hedding is the main speaker, along with several of the ICEJ UK board, and they are bringing a dancer called Jeff Lewis over from the USA. (Anyone know anything about him?). Rather unusually, the organisers have again included a dance workshop as part of the programme, and it's not as an optional session or when there's a choice of more than one thing to do. So you either have to go to it or pass the time elsewhere! The first conference last year was excellent and I am sure this year's will also be good. PM for me for booking details as there isn't a website. |

I think it's rather special that the session on dance is simply included as part of the package. That gives opportunity to say that it is not fluff, but considered a staple in the diet of Israel and should be such in the diet of worshippers anywhere! Good chance to give some apologetic and some simple congregational vocabulary, one could think... |

The conference was wonderful indeed. Lots of pro-Israel teaching from experienced speakers. There was a good atmosphere throughout and the overall mood was friendly and informal. The dancer from America, Jeff Lewis, was incredible. He is a very strong modern dancer with an powerful testimony, and did he some anointed solo pieces. If you ever get the chance to see him, jump at it. He has a rare combination of a high technical ability plus a deep spirituality. His workshop was excellent and well-attended. But he doesn't specialise in Israeli or messianic dance, so he asked me to lead this (Chuck must have told him about me). This was an overwhelming act of kindness on both their parts, and I can't express how much of a blessing it was to be treated so graciously and given a platform to use my gifts. So, although I came as a delegate, I became part of the team. Chuck even acknowledged me publicly by saying something like "please join in the dancing - just follow Jeff and David". A good number of people joined in the congregational dance throughout the various sessions, and Jeff and I were able to work together perfectly. There was no disagreement or conflict between us whatsoever. I bet there's not many conferences that have two male dance leaders! I was also able to do some flags, ribbons, and modern-style improvisation at the front at appropriate times. The closing worship time was absolutely amazing, and I don't say that lightly. I've seen a lot in my time, and this was right up in the heavenly places, although to be honest it felt like the heavens opened and we were all drenched in the Holy Spirit! There was a huge explosion of joy, dancing, praise and worship to an extent that I've seldom encountered. As a dance leader, I felt like I was really flowing in the Spirit and moving to the heartbeat of God, and again this is something that rarely happens. All I can say is that it was one of those divine moments, a mountain-top experience, a place of breakthrough, and everyone I spoke to felt the same. More, Lord, please!! |

I know exactly the kind of euphoria in Jesus that you are speaking about....that complete and total immersion in the eternal moment where heaven and earth come together in the glory of His presence. Where each new expression takes everyone higher and deeper at the same time and builds upon one another. Isn't it sad that those mountain top experiences can sometimes have years between them? Wow..two men leading dance at a conference. Doesn't happen often, but even less now than 10 years ago, it seems. Or maybe I'm just not hearing about it. |

Dave Your report read as a very precious time of intimacy with the Father!! Juliette and I were very encouraged to read there are still men out there, moving and dancing for him. Helena's comment about the number of men is quite true, eight to ten years ago more men were involved, maybe that generation have moved into 'family' season as we have. i pray you get to have more time with the guys, sharing ideas, visions, hopes and dreams. Shalom to you bro' david haddy |
